FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2023 Jubilee: Celebration of Impact is Gateway to Hope’s signature event and raises essential funds to remove barriers to affordable, timely, and quality breast healthcare and empower people at risk of and living with breast cancer to live full and healthy lives. This year’s celebration will feature a silent auction painting by local artist Cbabi Bayoc, the saxophone stylings of Rhoda G, and music by St. Louis legend, Anita Jackson.

September 11, 2023 (St. Louis, MO) – Gateway to Hope (GTH) announces Jubilee: Celebration of Impact, its 2023 Gala, to be held at The Hawthorn on Washington Ave, Friday, October 27, 2023. Jubilee is a celebration of the mission, progress, and impact of GTH. This engaging evening will be a time for supporters and advocates to come together in support of GTH’s work toward achieving breast health equity in Missouri and Southern Illinois.

In Missouri, half of those diagnosed with breast cancer choose between lifesaving health care and their family’s welfare. Food on the table. A roof over their heads. A safe environment to raise children. Breast cancer is a fact of life for 1 in 8 Missourians. GTH’s Treatment Navigation+ Program provides individuals with financial and emotional support, as well as resources needed when trying to access care. The healthcare system is daunting, overwhelming, and confusing in a time of crisis. In 2022, GTH assisted more than 400 people – more than ever before with community support.

Many efforts are focused on finding a cure. Until then, GTH’s new Screening Navigation+ Program is an effort to decrease the number of late-stage diagnoses. Rarely or never screened clients work 1:1 with a Screening Navigator to access preventative breast healthcare, like risk assessments, genetic screening, and mammograms. GTH provides financial assistance for co-pay, out-of-pocket, and transportation costs. This program can make an impact on healthcare costs and disparities, while increasing survival rates.

This unique event brings together public health practitioners, community members, philanthropists, and key decision-makers to reflect on how to create greater health equity for people in our region while celebrating success stories from our patients who have battled the system and won with the help of GTH. This evening blends education, fundraising, action, and impact. In celebration, local artist Cbabi Bayoc has donated a one-of-a-kind painting for auction. Guests will enjoy music by saxophonist Rhoda G and renowned American Jazz Vocalist, Anita Jackson.

Funds raised at the 2023 Jubilee will benefit Gateway to Hope’s work to financially and emotionally support patients diagnosed with breast cancer and increase access to screening and education of medically underserved individuals to save lives.

About Gateway to Hope

Gateway to Hope’s mission is to remove barriers to affordable, timely, quality breast healthcare and empower people to live full and healthy lives. Founded in 2005, two doctors were inspired to create a program to treat individuals who couldn’t afford to pursue treatment otherwise by a patient’s breast cancer journey. Our goal is to eliminate the disparities in breast health outcomes. GTH programs are designed to create greater access to care, helping to improve the outcomes of those impacted with breast cancer, those at risk for the disease, and those who seek preventative health in our community.
