Erin Main’s Letter to the Editor: A Patient Speaks of Hope and Community

Erin Main is a Stage 4 breast cancer survivor and a Gateway to Hope recipient. She shared her story in a letter to the Macon Home Press, urging women in her community to seek out breast healthcare, including regular screenings. In her letter to the editor, Erin speaks powerfully to the challenges women in rural communities face in accessing care and to the resources Gateway to Hope offers women throughout Missouri.

Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with breast cancer in Missouri.

WOMEN IN RURAL AREAS are 11% more likely to have a late-stage cancer diagnosis than those in urban areas.
