FOR POTENTIAL PATIENTS

How is Gateway to Hope different from other breast cancer organizations?

Gateway to Hope is proud to be the only organization in the United States providing BOTH financial assistance and 1:1 navigation support to patients across the entire breast health spectrum. Our trained navigators provide comprehensive case management, tailored for each patient and delivered outside the healthcare setting. We serve people who need access to prevention, early detection, diagnostic, and treatment care – including for patients with metastatic disease. Unlike many other breast cancer organizations, we do not fund medical research. While funding and research to find a cure and advanced treatments for breast cancer are critical, the time horizon on that work is very long. Gateway to Hope is 100% focused on making care more accessible to those who need it today. There is not another organization like Gateway to Hope.

What are the basic eligibility requirements in order to qualify for navigation?

Gateway to Hope has two programs: Screening Navigation, to help women access mammograms, and Treatment Navigation, to help women who are being treated for breast cancer. Eligibility requirements are the same for both programs.

We assist people living at or below 450% FPL in navigating the breast health continuum. That translates to $70,425 or less for a single person, or $144,675 or less for a family of four.

Fill out our application form, and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your eligibility and needs. You will need to provide documentation that confirms need and eligibility, such as medical notes and information about your financial standing.

Can I get financial aid without enrolling in the navigation program?

Enrollment in navigation is required for financial assistance.

Will Gateway to Hope pay for my mammogram and treatment?

Gateway to Hope supports patients in gaining access to affordable care. Navigators can help patients enroll in insurance and other assistance programs.

For patients enrolled in our program, we are able to provide up to $1,000 in financial assistance to support financial needs. This includes, but is not limited to, medical bills for mammograms, diagnostic care, and treatment costs. Your financial assistance is part of our program, and is designed to help remove any barriers in your way to seeking life-saving healthcare.

I have received help from another organization. Can I still sign up with Gateway to Hope?

Yes! You can receive navigation services and financial assistance from Gateway to Hope, even if you have received help from someone else. In fact, we love working with patients to make sure they can access all of the community support they need and qualify for, and we partner with other community organizations.

Does Gateway to Hope provide medical treatment and medical advice?

No. Many years ago, Gateway to Hope provided donated medical care. Today, our services rest outside of the medical system. We are an independent third party designed to support you in accessing and navigating care in the very best way that works for you. There is excellent, quality, affordable medical care out there for you–and our job is to help you access it.

Does Gateway to Hope only serve women?

Gateway to Hope provides services for people who need breast healthcare or breast cancer treatment. More than 99% of breast cancer patients are women, but all people have breast tissue and can be affected by breast cancer. All are welcome at Gateway to Hope!

If I fill out an inquiry form, will my information be kept confidential?

Yes! All information shared will be kept fully confidential, and is intended solely for the use of the sender (yourself) and the recipient (Gateway to Hope) for delivering support and evaluating potential navigation collaborations. Gateway to Hope is HIPAA compliant and will never disclose your health information.

By submitting an inquiry form, please know that you have provided official consent for a member of the Gateway to Hope team to contact you by telephone or email. At no point will Gateway to Hope sell or transfer any information shared.
