A message from Gateway to Hope CEO: Response to COVID-19 – Operations Continue Normally

March 13, 2020 3:35 pm

To friends and supporters of Gateway to Hope,

I am writing to you today to let you know about Gateway to Hope’s plans and operations in this time of uncertainty for our community. Our program recipients, their families, our staff and their families, are our top priority. We want to make sure that all of our actions protect the health of our community. We are optimistic that this will pass quickly, but as a non-profit organization whose priority is community health, we sincerely recognize the crucial importance of preparedness and overall safety of our patients, employees, and constituents.

Gateway to Hope has invested in the proper resources to allow us to be 100% remote and still maintain a fully operational organization. While not ideal, it is an option we are choosing to advance the cause of greater community health. Starting Monday, March 16, Gateway to Hope’s office in Creve Coeur will be closed until further notice and all operations will be performed remotely. During this time, our patients’ and employees’ health and needs are our top priority and all program recipient support – including financial assistance – will be done remotely.  By conducting all operations remotely, for the time being, we are doing our part to avoid any unintended spread of COVID-19. We hope this action provides further confidence that our organization, and so many others, are committed to the health and safety of our community.

Again, the Gateway to Hope team will still be fully 100% operational and available to assist our community. All questions/concerns for applications, resources, and patient needs can be directed to our main phone line, 314-569-1113.

We are also taking the step to postpone our Trivia Night, which was scheduled to occur on April 17. A new date for this event will be announced very soon. We are still accepting ticket purchases, sponsorships, donations and auction item donations for this uplifting, critical fundraising event. All of the other fundraising event plans for 2020 remain intact, and we thank you all for your ongoing support of our critical mission. Now, more than ever, your donations to Gateway to Hope are making a difference. In times of economic and health uncertainty, the most vulnerable members of our community require resources like what Gateway to Hope provides every day.

Thank you, as always, for coming together with us to support the health of our community. I look forward to seeing and speaking with all of you soon.

Gratefully,

Katie Manga

CEO
